Peck Reservoir – Inspection and Assessment
On Wednesday, March 15, the Public Works Utilities Division coordinated an inspection and assessment of the Peck Reservoir. The reservoir is co-located with the Springdale Reservoir and has a storage capacity of 17,000,000 gallons of water. This routine inspection and assessment is conducted every three years to inspect for leaks and assess the overall conditions of the reservoir.

Officer Vella’s Memorial Plaque
On Saturday, March 11, the Huntington Beach Police Department unveiled Officer Nicholas Vella’s memorial plaque on the Police Department’s Memorial Wall in the lobby. There was a small gathering to honor Officer Vella on what would have been his 46th birthday.
Winter Storm in Tulare County
On Wednesday, March 15, a request was received through to the California Office of Emergency Service for a Type 1 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) to respond to Tulare County in Northern California to assist with the massive flooding that was occurring in the area.
The Orange County Operation area deployed a six person USAR team to respond and assist, which consisted of members from the Huntington Beach, Anaheim, and Orange Fire Departments.
