Chris Slama to Leave City of HB for New Opportunity

Community & Library Services Director, Chris Slama, announced today that he will be leaving the City of Huntington Beach to pursue a new opportunity. A 40-year resident of Huntington Beach, Chris began his career with the City of Huntington Beach in 1991 as a part-time employee. In 2019, Chris was appointed to Director of Community Services, and as part of the Citywide reorganization plan in 2020, led the successful merging of Community & Library Services.

Ashley Wysocki, Deputy Director of Community & Library Services, will serve as Acting Director of Community & Library Services during the City’s recruitment effort for a permanent Director.  Ashley has been a valuable member of the HB Team since May of 2020 and previously worked in Rancho Cucamonga and Corona.

The City thanks Chris for his more than 3 decades of dedicated service to our community and wishes him success in his new career pursuit.
