City Manager Oliver Chi Leaves for City of Irvine

At the December 21 meeting, Mayor Barbara Delgleize presented the City’s outgoing City Manager, Oliver Chi, with a special commendation thanking him for his two years of service to Huntington Beach.

With more than 22 years of extensive government experience at both the state and local level, Oliver established a dynamic, values-driven organization that focused on achieving key community initiatives, including the COVID-19 Response Effort, Be Well OC, the Navigation Center for the homeless, and a significant restructuring of the City’s departments and finances.

In addition, Oliver worked tirelessly to advance citywide strategies that addressed a historic oil spill along our shores, instituted thoughtful sustainability initiatives, oversaw a robust capital project portfolio, established unique affordable housing programs, and prioritized fiscal health and community engagement activities.

We extend our most heartfelt appreciation to Oliver for a job very well done and wish him the very best in his new adventure as City Manager for the City of Irvine.
