Worried about leaving your home unguarded while on vacation? Was your honeymoon trip ruined by the stress of possible vandalism, theft, or destruction of property? Fret not! Residents of Huntington Beach have access to Vacation House Checks.
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is helping residents of Huntington Beach surveil homes while they enjoy their vacations! Volunteers conduct exterior perimeter checks as well as vehicle checks. Authorization for persons and vehicles is necessary to guarantee that no strangers trespass on your property. The Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) will be notified and directed to your home if anything seems suspicious.
To sign up and request protection for your home while on vacation, please call the RSVP office at 714-374-1507. Please plan on providing the the office with at least one week’s notice to guarantee scheduling.
When you return home, please notify the office at the same number. If you get home earlier than expected, you can contact HBPD non-emergency at 714-960-8825 and RSVP office. Keep in mind that home checks are not performed on Saturdays or Sundays.
