Environmental Impact Report for Housing Element Update Released

The City of Huntington Beach is requesting comments on the Draft Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) for the City’s Housing Element Update (2021-2029) Implementation Program. The Draft SEIR discusses the Housing Element Update’s potential physical impacts on the environment, ways in which potential environmental impacts may be minimized (mitigation), and alternatives to the Project.

The Draft SEIR will be available for public review and comment for 45 days beginning on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 and ending on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. All comments should be submitted via e-mail, U.S. Postal Service, or courier service no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 15, 2021. All comments shall be submitted in writing, including your name, address, and concerns, to: Alyssa Helper, Associate Planner, City of Huntington Beach, Department of Community Development, 2000 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 or via e-mail to: [email protected].

Subsequent to the public comment period, a public hearing will be scheduled before the Planning Commission and City Council tentatively beginning in September/October 2022.
