The “Banning Branch Book Club” is pleased to feature Sylvia Moreno-Garcia’s work of historical fiction Mexican Gothic, for their next meeting on Thursday, October 27 at 5:30 pm. This month’s book pick follows heroine Noemi Taboada as she rushes to a house called High Place in the distant Mexican countryside — to rescue her newly-wed cousin from a “mysterious doom.” She’s not sure what she will find there, and knows little about the region. However, she is soon mesmerized by the terrifying yet seductive world of High Place, and risks losing the one chance to leave this enigmatic house behind. Check out the book from our library collection here or borrow the e-book or e-audio book on Hoopla. This book club will resume meeting on the last Thursday of every other month at 5:30pm. Registration is required. Click here to save your spot https://hbpl.libcal.com/event/9587306.
