The Main Street branch is proud to offer their new “Coffee and Culture” series that will focus on the many cultural and historical events related to our coastal California experience. Join us for this fascinating presentation! Enjoy a cup of coffee while you listen and learn something new about Southern California’s amazing surf history.
First up, on Tuesday, July 26 at 6:00 pm*, is Professor and surf history author Patrick Moser, discussing his book Surf & Rescue: George Freeth and the Birth of California Beach Culture. A native Californian, much of Patrick’s writing focuses on the history and culture of surfing. He has collaborated on two memoirs with world surfing champion Shaun Tomson, and has been a Drury University (Missouri) faculty member since 1998, where he has taught French since 2012.
