Edinger Avenue Sewer Construction Begins

Construction crews have started a large project on Edinger Avenue to replace a sewer pipeline. This project is essential due to a sag in the current sewer line, which is causing grease buildup and consequently reducing capacity. To rectify this issue, a $5 million investment will be made to replace the existing 8 and 10-inch sewers with 8 to 15-inch ones, eliminating the sag and restoring the system to its full capacity.

Commuters traveling the area should anticipate delays, as construction will occur both during the day and overnight, with traffic reduced to a single lane. Specifically, work in front of The Residences at Bella Terra, from the railroad east of Gothard Street to Sher Lane, will occur during daytime hours. Conversely, the segment from Sher Lane to the east of Beach Boulevard will undergo construction in the evening. The project is anticipated to be complete in summer 2024.
