Grant opportunities for HB “brick-and-mortar” start-up businesses

From Human Resources and lease negotiations, to key performance indicators and utilizing a digital media strategy, launching a business in 2022 is more challenging than ever.

That is why Orange County’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering “Brick-by-Brick: A Retail Startup Program.”  This free online class runs online each Wednesday from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Classes run for six weeks from August 10 through September 14.  You can register by clicking here.

In addition to the free weekly class, this “Brick-by-Brick” program targeted at entrepreneurs looking to open a brick-and mortar business, is offering local businesses an opportunity to apply for a $10,000 grant through the California Dream Fund.  To qualify for this grant, your business must:

  • Have started on or before July 1, 2019
  • Have no more than five full time employees
  • Have no more than $1 million in revenue
  • Complete an approved training program (such as the “Brick-by-Brick” program)

There are other qualification requirements to be eligible for the grant, which you can find here
