Huntington Beach proudly honors the brave men and women from Surf City who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces through its Hometown Heroes Banner Program.

Throughout our city streets, you’ll see personalized banners displayed on light poles to celebrate our active service members and remind residents of their dedication to our country. For a service member to qualify, he or she must be an active member of the United States Armed Forces and be a resident of Huntington Beach, or have an immediate family member who resides in Huntington Beach.

The banner will be displayed for 12 months and at the end of the year, the sponsor of the banner will be notified that the banner will be retired and the light pole will then be available for a new service member.  The banner will be returned to the sponsor upon retirement.

Each banner costs $160 to produce and install, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.  Please note that the city currently has a waitlist for banners, but we welcome new applications and sponsorships to be added to the wait list.

The program is a partnership between the City and American Legion Post 133.  To learn more, visit the City’s website.
