ISA World Surfing Games Returns to HB this September

The International Surfing Association’s (ISA) World Games will be returning to Surf City in 2022.  From September 17-24, you can see the best surfers in the world compete in Huntington Beach for a spot in their country’s men’s and women’s Olympic teams for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.   The winning men’s and women’s National Teams at the ISA World Surfing Games in Huntington Beach will be allocated one Olympic slot each for their respective Country/National Olympic Committee.  For the Paris Olympics, the surfing competition will be held in the world-renowned surf spot at Teahupoo in Tahiti.

The ISA selects from the top surf spots around the world to host their flagship annual event.  This is the first time since 2006 that the ISA selected Huntington Beach as host of its World Games, but the fourth time overall going back to 1984.  Huntington Beach has long been an ISA favorite, having hosted seven championship events.  In addition to the four World Games, Surf City has hosted three World Junior Championships including back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019.
