Huntington Beach Fire Department Junior Lifeguard Surf Team (Winter Session) is open for registration to current Junior Lifeguards who successfully completed the 2021 Junior Lifeguard Program.
The first session runs from 11/30/21 to 12/30/21 and the second session runs from 01/04/22 to 02/24/22. Both sessions meet from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Participants will work with surf coaches to enhance their surfing, paddling, and balance skills, while also learning water survival skills that include beach safety, lifesaving techniques, wave knowledge, surf forecast, weather assessment, and much more. The Junior Lifeguard Surf Team will also prepare participants for surf competition, paddling competitions, and other beach competitions.
