Congratulations are in order to Huntington Beach’s very own Marina High School Cheer who are back-to-back National Champions. The 18-member squad won the Medium Varsity Non-Tumbling division of the National High School Cheerleading Championship. The squad beat out 21 other teams from around the United States. The competition was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at The Walt Disney World® Resort.
The ladies wowed the judges with their difficulty and execution of skills, crowd leading, and overall impression of the routine. At the end of the three-day competition, the team with the highest score earned takes home a first place trophy, banner, gold medal, and the coveted National Champion White Jackets.
In addition, the Marina squad holds a phenomenal record as being the Universal Cheerleading Association Regional Champions, CIF Southern Section Champions, and National High School Cheerleading Champions.
