May is Building Safety Month! Throughout the month, the International Code Council (ICC) will provide helpful tips on building safety in your home and the community. The City is taking time this month to celebrate the building safety team which includes the Building Official, Building Inspection Manager, Principal Combination Inspectors, Combination Building Inspectors, Permit Technicians, and Plan Checkers. This experienced team works in the city and examines details of construction that require extensive training, experience, and a vast amount of knowledge to ensure that new construction or renovations are built to meet the minimum building code standards.
Building safety in the City of Huntington Beach is wide ranging from small residential projects to the large industrial developments that may span over several years. In each instance, the City’s building safety professionals examine plans, ensure corrections are made, approve plans, and are on-site during all phases of construction to inspect safety and compliance to the approved plans. We appreciate the professional quality, ethics, and excellence that the City’s field and in-house teams bring to Huntington Beach each day!
