This year is winding down and sadly, so is my time serving you these past eight years on the City Council. November will come and go just as quickly as this past year has, and my last meeting will be December 6 as we look towards a new era of leadership in Surf City. Don’t forget to vote on November 8!
The City’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place on Friday, November 11 at 11am at Pier Plaza. Join me along with the American Legion Post 133, Explorer Post 558, and the Huntington Beach High School Band as we salute those who have served – past and present. It’s always a moving tribute and an important tradition to celebrate America’s Veterans for keeping this nation “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
Also coming up, Surf City Winter Wonderland returns to Pier Plaza. The City is continuing its partnership with Ice-America to transform Downtown Huntington Beach into a magical holiday attraction. The multi-week event will include ice skating for ages three and older, along with fun programming and partnerships with local businesses. The holiday ice rink opens Friday, November 18, 2022 and will remain open daily through Sunday, January 8, 2023. Additional details regarding special ice rink programming and events will be unveiled in the coming weeks. For more information, visit www.surfcitywinterwonderland.org.
A special public art unveiling will take place at 10am on Saturday, November 19 just outside the Secret Garden at Central Park! You all are invited to see what new piece will be revealed!
And if you can believe it – the Downtown Business Improvement District will light up the Main Street Christmas Tree on Tuesday, November 22 at 5:30pm! The holidays are here!
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving as we have many blessings to be grateful for in Surf City!
