A Taste of Southern Italy Coming to Pacific City

One of the top Italian pizzerias in the country is opening its doors at Pacific City in June.  Nardo owner Gianni Chiloiro founded Doppio Zero, which was recently ranked the 19th best pizzeria in the country by 50TopPizza, and its Bay Area restaurant was recognized by the San Francisco Chronicle as serving one of the best pizzas in the region.

This Michelin Guide-recommended restauranteur will open Nardo as a true family affair.  Chiloiro’s nephew Alessandro Ciaccia, who is the corporate Chef at Doppio Zero, will manage the restaurant.  Chiloiro’s daughter Daneila will hand paint the murals and his other daughter Francesca Grace will design the interior. The Chiloiro family hails from Taranto, Italy on the “heel” of the southern part of the country.

The Nardo menu will include exotic items such as wild boar and oxtail, as well as more traditional items such as fresh pasta made daily and Italian-style pizza prepared in a wood-fire oven handcrafted in Italy.

Nardo’s Pizzaiolo, Antonio Greco of Naples, is famous for hand-delivering a specialty pizza to the Pope during his visit to Naples in 2015.
