Planning to travel out of the country? Make sure you have your passport up to date. If you need a passport, make your appointment today at the Huntington Beach City Clerk’s office. Appointments are required and are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, excluding holidays.
Remember, even if you are traveling to Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean, you must have a passport prior to your departure. If you are a first-time passport applicant, please come to the appointment with the following documents:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship (e.g. birth certificate)
- Government-issued Photo ID (e.g. driver’s license)
- Check or Money Order made out to U.S Department of State
- Cash, Credit, or Debit cards NOT accepted for payments.
PLAN AHEAD!
Routine passport services can take up to ten weeks. Expedited services can take up to six weeks. Passport fees can vary slightly depending on the age of the applicant and the need for expedited services.
RENEW BY MAIL
If you have a valid passport, you may be able to renew it by mail. The renewal cost is $130 and must be paid by check, cashier’s check, or money order. There are four eligibility requirements to renew by mail:
- You can submit your most recent passport, which is not damaged.
- You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued.
- You were issued your most recent passport less than 15 years ago.
- You presently use the same name as the name listed on your most recent passport, or you have had your name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper supporting documentation.
