In April, Orange County Power Authority began providing renewable energy to businesses in Huntington Beach.

“Businesses both small and large in Huntington Beach are taking bold steps by choosing renewable energy options with Orange County Power Authority,” said Brian Probolsky, OCPA Chief Executive Officer. “Giving customers the power of choice and the opportunity to shift toward cleaner energy is a groundbreaking new front in addressing our environment and the sustainability of our communities.”

OCPA now gives you the power to make choices about your renewable energy content. Customers can choose from OCPA Basic Choice, equal in cost to Southern California Edison (SCE), Smart Choice, which provides 69% renewable energy, or 100% renewable energy. 

The move to cleaner energy replaces the fossil fuels with wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro-generated electricity. SCE still provides power transmission to customers. Both SCE and OCPA work together to ensure electric service reliability.

As a member of OCPA, Huntington Beach, is one of hundreds of California communities benefiting from community choice energy. In addition to offering competitive rates and three choices of renewable power, OCPA’s revenue is reinvested into local infrastructure, helping to support economic growth, job creation, and critical neighborhood projects.

OCPA will launch residential service this Fall. At full launch, OCPA will be the sixth largest and greenest community choice energy provider in California.
