City Hosts Resource Fair for Seniors and Mobile Home Park Residents

Many Huntington Beach seniors live on a limited, fixed income and are also residents of the 18 mobile home parks located citywide. Recently, it was brought to the City Council’s attention that many of our seniors are experiencing financial hardship due to rising rents and cost of living. In order to assist our senior community, the City Council will host a Resource Fair where seniors and mobile home park residents can learn about cost-saving resources and receive free services.

The Resource Fair will take place on Saturday, April 2 from 9am to 1pm at the Senior Center in Central Park located at 18041 Goldenwest Street.  The Fair will feature:

  • Elected representatives
  • Non-profit groups
  • Housing and community resources
  • Health screenings
  • City services
  • Free refreshments

This Fair is hosted in partnership with the Huntington Beach Council on Aging, utility companies, state legislators and service providers who will connect seniors with resources and provide assistance in signing up for programs they are eligible for. By offering this Fair to the community, the City aims to proactively help our mobile home park residents and seniors find ways to help reduce financial challenges.

Seniors on the Go! will provide limited transportation to and from the Fair.  To schedule a free ride, please call 714-374-1742 between March 21 and March 29. For more information about the event, call the Senior Center in Central Park at 714-536-5600.
