Summer Concerts in the Park Return

Looking for free family fun? Check out Sunday Concerts in the Park presented by the Huntington Beach Concert Band (HBCB). Concerts are at 5pm at the Central Park Thomas Ridley Bandstand, just behind the Central Park Library.

The HBCB is proud to organize and sponsor the Sunday Summer Concert Series. Under the direction of Thomas Ridley since 1977, the Huntington Beach Concert Band’s next performance will be on Sunday, July 24. Other performances include:

  • July 31 – Navy Band Southwest Wind Ensemble. Exceptional unit that performs extensively throughout the Southwest United States; selections range from patriotic favorites, to the sounds of the big band era, to hits by current pop and country artists.
  • August 7 – The Wiseguys Big Band Machine. Blend of swing and jazz, Rat Pack style. (Free dance lessons at 4:15pm)
  • August 14 – Golden West Pops. Marches, show tunes, popular favorites and more.
  • August 21 – Ginger & The Hoosier Daddys. All-star dance band – fun, authentic and vintage music of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. (Free dance lessons at 4:15pm)

The HBCB has been performing for Southern California audiences for over 40 years. Founded by John Mason in 1973, the non-profit volunteer community concert band provides concerts to the greater Orange County area throughout the year.  The Band’s purpose is to provide a creative opportunity for all musicians age 18 or older to share musical talents and bring enjoyment to others through public performance.  For more information and the full Summer Concert schedule visit hbconcertband.org.
