Central Park Public Art Unveiling
Please join us on Thursday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m. as we unveil the new public art piece at Huntington Central Park, behind the Central Library (7111 Talbert Avenue).
The art piece entitled, “To See Yourself in Nature,” is constructed out of etched bronze and stainless steel, and encourages viewers to interact and reflect on the beauty of the park and the unique architecture of the Central Library.

Carbon Dioxide Compliance Training
On Monday, April 24, the Huntington Beach Fire Department’s (HBFD) Community Risk Reduction Division hosted a carbon dioxide compliance training at City Hall. Approximately 50 members from HBFD and other Orange County fire departments attended the training session to learn about the gas detection requirements as well as other fire code safety requirements.
Emergency Vehicle Driving & Police Intervention Technique
This past week, Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) Officers began training sworn employees on emergency vehicle driving and the Police Intervention Technique (PIT). All officers from HBPD go through this training every other year. This real-life training is intended to enhance proficiency during high-stress vehicle operations to increase public safety and the safety of all personnel. This program has been at the forefront of driver training for over 30 years.
