Start the new school year off right at the Back to School Teen Clothing Swap, where teens in grades 9 through 12 can exchange gently used clothing and accessories for new-to-you items!

How to donate: On any Friday or Saturday between August 1 and 20, teens can drop off their gently worn clothes and accessories in good condition to the Children’s Desk at the Huntington Beach Central Library. For every item donated, participants will receive a ticket to shop the Swap on Saturday, August 27. Donations are limited to a maximum of 10 items per person.

  • Please note that we are unable to accept shoes, socks, leggings, undergarments (including sports bras and tights), or swimwear. View the full list of donation limitations.

How to shop: The Shop the Swap event will take place from 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, at the Huntington Beach Central Library. Shoppers must bring their school ID or HBPL Card to shop and redeem their tickets. Every teen who attends the Swap will automatically receive five tickets to shop, even if they didn’t donate. Those who donated will receive bonus tickets for each item they donated to the swap, up to 10 bonus tickets. The maximum number of items someone may take from the Swap is 15.
