Friends of the HB Public Library Donate $250,000

On October 3, 2023, the Friends of the Huntington Beach Public Library presented a check for $250,000 to Library Manager Jessica Framson and Community and Library Services Director Ashley Wysocki. The Friends of the Library (FOTL) is a nonprofit support group that raises money for the Library system via membership dues, programs, the Used Book Store at Central Library and branch locations, and the Gift Shop at Central Library. In the past 10 years, FOTL has given over $2.5 million to support the Library with the majority of their donations going to purchase books and digital resources. Last year their generous donation supported not only the book budget, but assisted with the purchase of some new furniture for Central Library as well as much needed shelving, furniture, and other upgrades for the branches.

October 15 through October 21 is National Friends of the Library Week. FOTL will be holding a membership drive at Central Library. Community members can continue to support the Library by becoming a member, shopping at the Used Books Store or the Gift Shop, or by attending one of the many programs that FOTL sponsors. More information about FOTL is available on their website.
