In the upcoming November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election, Huntington Beach voters will decide whether or not the City should tax cannabis retailers and non-retailers (indoor cultivators, manufacturers, testing labs, and distributors) if ever permitted to operate in the City.

To seek more input from the community, the City of Huntington Beach will be hosting its second community forum related to proposed cannabis regulatory framework on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Huntington Beach Central Library & Cultural Center (Rooms C/D), located at  7111 Talbert Avenue.

All interested residents, businesses, and community stakeholders are invited to the Open House to learn more about potential regulation on cannabis retailers and non-retail businesses, as well as information about the Measure O: Cannabis Business Taxation on the November 8th ballot. This Open House will also focus on conversations about potential permitted areas (zoning and buffers from sensitive uses) for cannabis businesses among other policy discussions.

This will be an interactive event where attendees may pop-in at anytime throughout the event times. Attendees will have opportunities to provide input on draft GIS maps and ask questions or provide comments to the City Council and City staff.

Written comments can also be emailed to [email protected] before November 1, 2022.
