The HB Public Library is thrilled to announce the launch of Parks Pass Backpacks to Huntington Beach Library cardholders, thanks to a grant from the California State Library.
Patrons can choose from three themes. Birding 101 is curated for the beginning birder. It includes premium binoculars so you can ID your bird with ease. Hiking with Kids has a starter kit for your little explorer. Including an adult-sized and child-sized backpack and binoculars, you’ll have fun observing nature with the help of magnifying glasses and an “I Spy” game. Outdoors for Everyone will make your hike a little easier with hiking poles and binoculars that include a tripod and eye shields.
Along with the specific gear for each kit, you’ll also find field guides relevant to your chosen theme, providing valuable insights and tips to enhance your outings. As an added bonus, each backpack includes free entry into participating California State Parks. Not only will you have access to top-notch equipment and educational resources, but you will also get to enjoy the natural beauty of our state parks without worrying about entrance fees. Participating parks include Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington State Beach.
All Huntington Beach Library cardholders are eligible to checkout one backpack at a time. Simply visit the Library’s Website to check availability and place a hold on a backpack. Whether you’re planning a weekend escape or an extended outdoor adventure, these backpacks are here to support you every step of the way.
