The City of Huntington Beach’s ongoing efforts to address homelessness relies on a collaborative approach between the City’s Homeless and Behavioral Health Staff, multiple City departments, local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and most importantly our volunteers.
The Huntington Beach Homeless and Behavioral Health Services Department are looking for dedicated volunteers to assist with our Homeless System of Care. Huntington Beach residents who are looking for ways to get involved can participate in our HB CARES program by taking the following roles:
- Case Management Support – assist with answering phones and providing resources.
- Community Ambassador – provide information about the resources available in our city.
- Senior Navigators – provide support to HB senior citizens who may be at risk of losing their housing.
- Navigation Center – assist with daily tasks, as needed, at our Navigation Center, or share life skills with the program participants.
Interested volunteers will need to participate in a volunteer orientation, complete a volunteer application, pass a background check, participate in required training, and commit to volunteering at least once a month.
Our next virtual volunteer orientation will be Wednesday, January 11. To attend the volunteer orientation, or for questions regarding these volunteer opportunities, please send an email to: [email protected] stating your interest. A zoom link will be provided with additional details.
