Hello, Surf City!
There’s never been a busier time of year than October in Surf City! Every weekend has been filled with events – starting with the Pacific Airshow, the Surf City Arts Fest by our Huntington Beach Art Center, the 50th Annual City of HB Surf Contest, and the HBFD Open House! On Saturday, October 22, there will be a newly crowned Miss Huntington Beach as the Sand Dollars host the annual Miss Huntington Beach Scholarship Pageant at the Central Library Theater where one of 10 contestants will be named the next Queen! Good luck to all of the young ladies!
Surf City knows how to do Halloween with lots of family friendly events. Our Central Library will host a fun Halloween Event from 7pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 27. Bring the kiddos to trick or treat table-to-table on the first floor of the Library! Huntington Beach Spooktacular takes place over three days from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30 at the Equestrian Center from noon to 5pm. Enjoy horse jumping events, face painting, pumpkin decorating, carnival games, food & drinks, and a haunted house! A movie will be shown after 5pm as well!
On Saturday, October 29 from 10am to 3pm, visit Dog Beach for the annual Corgi Beach Day where you’ll see hundreds of Corgi’s dressed up for HOWL-O-WEEN! It’s the 10th Anniversary of the event and they’re celebrating with a full out Halloween Corgi Beach ‘Pawty!’ Participate in new contests & events, interactive-style pet/owner selfie stations, along with activities with an everything Halloween themed.
In addition, come out for a Downtown HB Halloween extravaganza on Monday, October 31 on Main Street from 4pm to 7pm! Activities include: Trick-or-Treat at participating HB Downtown businesses, meet & greet to grab a treat from our friends from various City Departments like HBFD, a Main Street Monster March at 5pm, a costume contest, and more.
