Ascon Update

In an ongoing effort to keep the local community informed near the Ascon Landfill site, the Ascon team has been monitoring the air from the site with air quality trailers located throughout the community.  Due to inactivity at the site and in response to resident requests about the trailers, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) approved pausing community air monitoring. Monitoring will resume during the final Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) pre-treatment pilot test excavation work, currently planned for Tuesday, October 24. After this final pilot work, the trailers will be removed from the neighborhood until restart work begins and offsite air monitoring will resume.

If you have any questions, please contact the Ascon community information line at 714-388-1825 or email [email protected].
