Fire Prevention Week – October 8-14, 2023

Did you know that most home fires start in the kitchen? Fire is a serious public safety concern both locally and nationally, and homes are the locations where people are at greatest risk from fire.

Our Huntington Beach Fire Department (HBFD) is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all those living in and visiting our City and proudly announce October 8 to 14 as Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme, “Cooking safety starts with YOU.  Pay attention to fire prevention,” effectively serves to remind Huntington Beach to stay alert and use caution when cooking to reduce the risk of kitchen fires. We urge all Huntington Beach residents to check their kitchens for fire hazards and use safe cooking practices.

To support the many public safety activities and efforts of our firefighters, we invite you to the Annual HBFD Open House on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10am to 3pm at the Gothard Station (18311 Gothard Street). Join us for FREE family fun including activities for the kids, free treats, tours of the fire station, exciting demonstrations, and more!
