Fourth of July is quickly approaching, and the Huntington Beach Fireworks Stand Application for non-profit organizations is now available! This year, the City is offering 15 permits for civic organizations, high schools, and youth sports organizations that operate within the City to operate a firework stand and raise funds for their organization.
The application period is from March 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022. Approved applications will then be placed into a lottery, and 15 lucky winners will be randomly selected during the April 19th City Council meeting. Those officially selected will be contacted by a representative from the Fire Department to discuss the next steps.
Who Qualifies?
- Five permits will be given to civic organizations whose sole purpose is for the
civic betterment, charitable, or religious support of the Huntington Beach community. This EXCLUDES high school extracurricular activities or sports groups.
- Another five permits shall be given to high schools that agree to use the proceeds for student extracurricular activities/sports. Each high school will be allowed ONE application. Once selected, each public high school shall hold its own lottery to dedicate its stand to no more than two student clubs/organizations. One permit is reserved for a private high school but if none apply, this permit will be given to a public high school.
- The last five will be given to youth sports groups whose main purpose is to benefit a youth sports activity. This EXCLUDES individual club or travel sports teams, or high school extracurricular activities/sports groups.
