The 2023 Wallex US Open of Surfing is well underway at the beach. The event kicked off on Saturday, July 29 with a full day of surfing and Nitro Circus demonstrations that brought thousands of residents and visitors to the beach during opening weekend, filling the beach parking lots by noon. The surfing competition continues throughout the week with visitors also enjoying lively activations, retail booths, beach bar, and food truck vendors.

On Thursday, live music performances began on the small stage in the center of the footprint with a local act named Your Favorite Color. Performances will also take place on Friday and Saturday afternoons and Nitro Circus will return for demonstrations throughout the day on Saturday.

The US Open will culminate with an exciting finals finish Sunday afternoon. Organizers are expecting large crowds throughout finals weekend and staff will provide a detailed report on attendance and demographics for the 2023 US Open after the event. HBPD will continue to patrol the event all week and weekend to ensure everyone is safe.
